Hit The Highway

They say life is a highway.

As far as Jesus is concerned, there are two paths you can choose to travel on.  One road leads to death. One road leads to life:

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. (Matt 7:13-14)

Isaiah also tells of a path of holiness for those who follow God.  He called it a highway:

And a Highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness… it will be for those who walk in that Way… (Isaiah 35:8)

Have you chosen the narrow path?  Are you on the Highway of Holiness?  There are lots of roads you might choose in this life, but only one leads to God.  One Way.  The Highway.  And if you have made that choice, we’re called to take up the mantle of John the Baptist, preparing the way for Christ’s return:

A voice of one calling: In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. (Isaiah 40:3)

Things to ask yourself: Am I on the right path? Am I living a life that will lead me to God, or am I on the road to destruction? Do I know God? Am i helping to prepare the way for Christ’s return?

Things to ask God: What do you have in store for my life? How can I make sure that I’m walking on the right path? Can you help me turn my life around, and get me on the right road? Can you help me along the highway?

The Highway is a Wednesday Night home Bible study geared particularly towards teens in high school (hence “high”). The Highway is also a One Way Inn program (hence “way”). For those who want to know more about God, the Highway is a way to learn about how to get on that path; for those who already know God, it’s a challenge to get involved and prepare the way for the coming King. Get on the Highway.
